It was only a few months ago that Virginia was the laughingstock of the rest of the country when our state legislature passed the infamous mandatory ultrasound law undermining our reproductive rights. Some of the male delegates who voted for these laws couldn’t even say “transvaginal probe” in public without apologizing for “offending” their audience. Really. And don’t forget that Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli used every opportunity to promote his personal religious agenda against reproductive rights, and as you know, he made progress.
Are you willing to join the Women’s Caucus in fighting back? This is the time for us – together – to take decisive action against those very state and national legislators who will continue their efforts to win their war against us.
Membership is open to all registered voters in Virginia – regardless of gender – who support the Virginia Democratic Party and believe in the mission of the Democratic Women’s Caucus.
The key deadline to join so you can participate in the reorganization is THIS TUESDAY, July 17th. The cost is $10. Please don’t put this off or say you’ll do it later – it’s too important to wait til the last minute and risk missing the deadline. As a member, you will have the opportunity to vote in the reorganization of the Women’s Caucus. The voting will be on September 15th in Fredericksburg at Noon just after the State Central Meeting. There is no proxy voting.
